Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you but I thought I would give you a summary of things on here.
UK – London hotel was very good, great location with easy access to transport and the city area. Also, no problems with car hire. Had a great time driving around and stayed in all sorts of accommodation from 5 star hotels, to pubs to B & Bs.
France – no problems with car hire but hated the citroen Picasso. St Malo accommodation was excellent as was Paris, especially the location. No problems with public transport or getting around. Loved Paris and can’t wait to get back there.
All train travel in Europe was very good and a very easy way to get around.
Switzerland was beautiful and all the hotel accommodation was first rate. Loved the trains, boats and buses with no problems getting around at all or being in the right place at the right time. Only complaint was too much chocolate in Lugano…haha. St Moritz was very beautiful however we were 5 days early in that there were no cable cars etc operating and most things were closed until the end of the week. It was still quite relaxing though. Zermatt was great and very busy.
Italy accommodation was good apart from Rome. We found the hotel really second rate and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Venice hotel was a very convenient location and although a bit noisy at times very comfortable. Florence was great, as was hotel. Had a bit of confusion with the day trip to Siena as to pick up point not being very well defined but it was a really great day out. Assisi was very beautiful and very different and we loved our stay there. St Agnello hotel was fantastic as were people in southern Italy. Much more relaxed atmosphere and could have spent a few more days there which we probably will do next trip. Matera was very interesting and hotel very beautiful except I don’t know that they are really set up for English speaking tourists even though some of their staff spoke English. It was very difficult to find out what amenities were available and where to find them. There were lucky to be half a dozen other people in the hotel and breakfast was pretty basic. Still enjoyed the visit as it was quite a fascinating place.
Ferry to Patras was ok except we were short on cash getting on due to only being able to find broken ATMs and then they only took cash on board which is something people should know before getting on. Nothing like the channel ferries.
Greece was fantastic. Couldn’t really complain about anything and all the tours and organized accommodation was very good except maybe one hotel in Olympia could have been better but it was still ok. Loved Athens, loved tours and bus trip and islands were fantastic. Greece and Mediterranean Travel and their counterparts in Greece did a great job and we can’t wait to go back there again as we definitely needed more time.
Egypt – well what can I say? It was fantastic and South Sinai Travel who looked after us were more than wonderful. Our tour manager, guides and drivers took care of us extremely well and we would highly recommend them to anyone traveling in Egypt. It was an amazing holiday with first rate accommodation and a great river cruise.
Overall we had a great time and thank you for your great organization.

Fantastic Trip – great weather.
Highlights – many but :
The Swiss Rivera (Vevey, Montreaux and the Surrounds)
The Jungfrau
Paris (everything)
The L’Absinyth Restaurant
Lucern
The Swiss Transport museum
Venice
Giglio Rosso restaurant
Ferrari @ Marenello
Florence
The night trip of Rome
The train trips
Magnificent Weather !
The only downside was the accommodation in Rome. It stank, was grimy and was not in an appropriate part of town for families and was full of school groups and backpackers – in fact we almost pulled out – but decided that we would waste too much time finding another hotel. I was really surprised and disappointed that we ended up there, as all the other accommodation was fine.
Anyway – thanks for organising, everything went like clockwork except the hotel in Rome.
Talk in a year or so about the next trip.

Just a note to send our Warmest Thanks to you for the marvelous itinerary you put together for us to travel from Paris to Rome 9th January -17th January…. by train and the nice hotels along the way.
The Swiss Rail certainly is the way to travel, so prompt, nicely appointed, assigned seats and very helpful staff indeed at the stations. All the hotels within walking distance and the maps provided made it all so easy for us to get around. The extras you mentioned and included information for were very helpful and appreciated.
This was our first holiday taking trains, and it made sense to sit back and take in the scenery as we travelled along, and not be searching maps, driving on the wrong side of the road, and working out traffic signs, …………….. the trains were great. Chris enjoyed the train travel very much.
Went for a day trip to beautiful Gruyeres, in the snow, had a fondue and saw some great scenery on the trip there. The train travel everywhere from Paris to Rome, was beautiful scenery, and the trip to Chamonix just gorgeous, not many people on the Mont Blanc Express, and so we stood up in our seats, had a panoramic view out of the large windows and the beauty of the snow, houses, farms, and the mountains ….wow.
The tours in Paris and Rome, excellent and we both loved Rome, Switzerland, Lake Como, Chamonix, Lucerne, all places we will visit again in another season, for sure.
The best Hotel by far was the Hotel de la Paix in Laussane, it was beautiful, gorgeous restaurant and very nice room The other hotels along the trip were good, some better than others, but overall we were very pleased with the travel and accommodation you organized for us.
We will keep in touch as we plan to do other trips in time to come, and we have highly recommended you to family and friends. All the extras you added to our itinerary including places to eat, visit, and go out of the way to see were terrific and one of the only trips we did not get to do from beautiful Lucerne was the trip to Mt Pilatus, but hey another time, another holiday will get us there to the top of that mountain. On the day we planned to go it snowed, no visibility up the mountains, and so walked for miles around Lucerne.
We phoned you last week, the lady mentioned you had left for the day, and so thought to send you an email.
Many many thanks again Alan,
